ABOUT US

Company principle Cheryl Forner holds a Master of Arts in archaeology from the University of Saskatchewan and has over 17 years of experience working in environmental services as an anthropologist, archaeologist, project manager and Indigenous partnership company manager. 

Cheryl's proficiencies include anthropology; archaeology; consultation; traditional knowledge, traditional land use and traditional environmental knowledge studies; program/project management; proposal writing/senior review; budgeting; maintaining timelines; interviewing Indigenous community members; note taking; research; summary/letter reporting; report writing/senior review and client management. 

Cheryl is a strong advocate for capacity building and skill training and has coached, mentored, managed and advocated for Indigenous environmental technicians as well as junior archaeologists and anthropologists.

Recognizing the importance of relationship building and creating meaningful engagement opportunities Cheryl works with community leaders, individuals, Elders and traditional knowledge keepers to develop strong relationships and programs. She also understands the importance of learning and respecting cultural protocols and of respecting confidentiality and sensitivity concerns.
Company principle Alan Youell holds a Master of Arts in archaeology from the University of Saskatchewan and has over 21 years of experience working in environmental services as an archaeologist, project manager, environmental planner, discipline coordinator and anthropologist. 

Alan has conducted heritage resource studies in northern and western Canada and has extensive experience in Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as Nunavut, the Yukon Territory, and the Northwest Territories. Through this experience, Alan has acquired a broad knowledge base pertaining to both the government and industry side of project execution including governmental regulatory environmental requirements, construction methods and industry best practices. 

Alan is also a skilled project manager, along with government, client, and Indigenous community liaison. He has developed proposals and budgets as well as managed both small, medium and large-scale projects. Alan also has experience with hearing preparation and proceedings and has been involved in land use and development projects requiring traditional land use/traditional environmental knowledge studies and consultation.

As an environmental planner Alan has experience with both small and large-scale pipeline projects. In this capacity, he is primarily involved with the operations side of project execution, including discipline coordination as the primary lead for the development and delivery of field programs, management of field reporting, and associated deliverables. In addition, Alan has been involved with the regulatory application process for numerous major client deliverables including Temporary Diversion Licenses, Code of Practice Notifications, Environmental Protection Plans and Environmental Field Reports.
